When im typing fast i'll sometimes hit a button (i think its shift, alt or ctrl not sure which one!?) in such a way as to make any thing i go back and type in the middle of allready typed text overlap and deleate that already written text!! Its such a pain!!!

It goes off when i exit whatever application im on but still anyone know how to turn it on and off at will?

On the right side of your keyboard. Above the Delete button and next to the Home button it says Insert.

Thats you button. to check if its on, the easiest way is to go into Microsoft Word and at the very bottom you will see the letters OVR (meaning over) and if you click the button quickly you will see it slash. Dark black means its on, faded its off.

Hi

My take is that you're using a laptop with a built-in touchpad. Make sure that you set the touchpad and related buttons to your desired "low" sensitivity or turn it off to isolate if it's your touchpad that's making the program cursor skip back. Try typing again carefully that you do not accidentally press the Insert "Ins" key.

Another theory is that your keyboard may need cleaning already...

click insert again go to microsoft word and check the status bar if the OVR is on
