Many New Over the Counter Self Tests are early tests, you'll be able to find out early. Try First Respond - ept - or Clear Choice, And they are 99% accurate. If you are real anxious & unsure, get a Twin pack and try the first one around the week your period should start and you don't get your period the next week, you still have a back up test if
Also - take the test using the first Morning Urine - you'll get better results. That's also what the package recoomends.

Try clinics that offers Free Pregnancy testings so you don't even have to spend any money. Just look in yellow pages for the Family Planning Centers in your area.

Sometimes the level of pregnancy hormone in your body does not reach high enough to register on a home pregnancy test until around 3 weeks after conception. That would time it to be about one week after a missed period, if you conceived in the middle of your cycle. Take the test once at about two weeks after you had unprotected sex, and then do another couple of tests the week after and the week after that. That way you can be sure it's not a false negative. Or, go get the blood test at your doctor's, since it's more sensitive than the pee-on strips.

if you take it before your period is due it may be to early and therefore give you a false negative.. i reckon you should wait till your period is around 7 days late before you test just incase you miss calculated when you are due.
