Don't go to the doctor EVERY time something is hurting her, if it lasts more than 36-48 hours THEN go see a doctor. Normal stomach pains will normally go away after a day. The spicey foods could be causing her tummy to become upset seeing that shes saying her tummy is on fire. Keep her off the extremely spicey foods and limit the amount of bb-q sauce she uses. If it keeps up definately visit a doctor.

Use the process of elimination. Put her on a bland diet for a week. If she doesn't have any problems, introduce a more flavorful food in to her diet -- 1 at a time--- for a week and so on. I definitely think the hot chips and sauce are a big factor. Especially if she eats them within a day or so from each other. At 8 I really hope it isn't a daily thing. Good luck!

I agree with what's been said so far to a point. I wait for a while before taking my kids in to the doctor because a lot of childhood aches and pains go away on their own. But temper that with a bit of mother's intuition and listen to that little voice if it tells you something is really wrong.
Spicy foods could be causing her stomach pains but if she always eats spicy stuff it may not be the cause. I grew up eating spicy foods and never have a problem with them.
Another cause of stomach pain in kids that often goes undiagnosed is stress. Has anything changed in her life? At home or at school? Or has anything changed for a friend? With my 8 year old DD this is what I look for first whenever her stomach hurts. Lately that stomach ache has been her indicator that problems and concerns are building up and we need to work on relaxing her.
Edit to add: Oh, and I'll check this site a lot for symptoms and recommendations on when to go to a physician.

I agree with Jessica. Usually I wait after 24 hours to see if symptoms persist. Then, I would call my doctor and if they want to see her, they'll ask me to bring her in.
You should limit the spicy foods... it's not good for her.
But be careful. I don't want to scare you or anything, but at that age, my little sister complained of a stomach ache for several days. My mom thought she was lying or trying to get out of school and eventually she gave up with my little sister's whining. She took her to the ER and found out it was appendicitis... the doctor said that she's lucky because any later it'll rupture and you know, my sister could've died... I guess what I'm trying to say, if it last for more than a day, call your doctor...you might never know...

I think that maybe the problem is the spicy foods. I would give it a few days with out eating the spicy foods and see if she her stomach is still bothering her. If so then you might consider seeing the docter.
Also is your daughter a worrier. If it isn't the spicy foods it could be a ulcer.

Dont worry Its just acidity. Give her a glass of milk while she is eating all that spicy food. She shud have it with food. Preferably warm.
And if you are still worried, get a ultra-sound done. it seems you are from India. Children tend to complain. get her stool and urine checked also for bacterias

Although I agree with what everyone else is saying, does she complain of hip and leg pain too? It could be growing pains. Just a thought.
