I'm thinking to be a poker dealer. However, I can only deal good at Texas Holdem. That is the only game I love the best about Poker. Does all casino requires their dealers to know all kind of poker games? What are my chances to get hired if I can only deal Texas Holdem?

Well, I'm in school right now and good at Math. A game such as hi-lo omaha is hard for me.

You should go to a dealer school if you are going to seriously consider becoming a dealer. I deal poker full time and i started out by going to dealer school first. Then i got a job by auditioning at different casinos until i got in. You will have to start at a break in house that will hire a dealer without experience. There is so much to know when it comes to running a smooth game, You must know the 3 basic games, because no casino just deals hold em, they deal Omaha high/low, 7 card stud, and hold em poker, as well as many other games like triple draw poker,Chinese poker, and pineapple. The way you hold the deck, how you pitch the cards and knowing the rules of the games are key to getting a good job. In Vegas it's who you know as we'll as what you know. I just started by going to as many card-rooms as i could so people would see me and know my name. The more you can stand out to a poker room manager the better chance you have of getting a job. Go buy the poker dealers handbook by Dan paymar, it is the bible for poker dealers. good luck.

You don't have to know anything about gambling period to be a dealer. You have to go through a dealer school and then get an audition at a casino. Math degrees doesn't help, just know something about math.
One way around the casinos is to look for a poker charity. We have one charity group that travels around Rockford, IL and the surrounding area setting up poker events, and you don't need to be a professional dealer to deal at those. You are only paid what tips you get from players, but its not too bad. I usually see an hour tournament giving 30 bucks to the dealer.
You can make mistakes at the tables if you are a dealer. You just need to tell the floor that you made a mistake and let them fix it.

Better hang it up kid a dealer is required to do it all from okie 3 card on up try your hand at pai-gow then you tell me
Holdem aint that easy 1player goes all in with 50k and everybody call with a different amount could you keep it straight as to who wins what amount ive had 4 winners in one hand with 10 players (still a fun game) try it and yes its on the dealer to keep it straight in a casino an argument the dealer gets pulled for screwing up the game job security is pretty shakey
if your talking the bar doen the street instead of a casino go for it

You probably won't get hired. There is an actual heiarchy to dealers at a casino (depending on the casino of course). You need to work your way up which means working different tables and different games. There are also schools you can go to to learn how to be a dealer. I imagine most higher end casinos won't take you unless you've had experience or went to one of these schools.

You would probably have to go to dealer school, and I would think that you would have to be able to deal all the poker games.
