Of all the things that have crossed my mind, Satan was certainly NOT one of them. I was thinking government cutbacks and a crackdown on the homeless in other places, warmer weather, racism, poverty, drug addiction, etc.

There is nothing on this Earth that inspires someone to be homeless on the streets. On the beach somewhere, I could maybe see - but not the streets.

If you want to know why they are on the street, you should ask them. They will tell you stories of loss and despair, tragedy or insanity. The more important question is how to you help inspire them to come back to society?

Peace!

Most "street people" have mental illnesses or serious addictions. It's not that they have given up on society, it's just they don't know better, or can't see it's not a good place to be due to drugs or alcohol. It is a serious problem that needs to be fixed. It doesn't help that there are shortages of hospital beds and closures of mental hospitals and high costs to go to rehab.

I don't think inspiration has much to do with it. I think it's more a lack of opportunity that forces them onto the street. Of course this wouldn't be the case for everyone. Drugs and mental illness can also play a role. And some people are just nomadic and feel the need to spend their life wandering.

Having no morals, falling victim to drugs or alcohol, or maybe having some major situation happen within the family that will never be forgotten?...
