The best position, as already metioned, is perpendicular in most schools of Feng Shui. However, to be able to see a person lying in bed when someone is coming from another room or outside is considered sha, or a negative position. Do remember the following guidelines when aligning a bed:
Do not place a bed with the headboard underneath or against a window (ever!)
Do not place it without room to be able to walk confortably around from both sides of the bed against a wall unless the person intends to live alone (not good for couples, or any one that aspires to have one).
Do not place directly under a window.
Do not place under a heavy beam, or inder a steeply slanting slope of the roof (if necessary to place a bed under a slanting roof, put head towards Highest part of the ceiling
Do not place the bed in direct view of toilet
Do not place under a bathroom on second floor.
Sometimes solutions can easily be found for seemingly impossible problems with a lovely screen, re arranging furniture or hanging a peaceful piece a tapestry. A lovely piece of furniture, such as a dressers can be placed in front of offending doors to make a peaceful place where a person can find restoration and calm.
Do make a simple bedroom, with only a few unassuming and tasteful objects. The purpoise of a bedroom is to sleep, not to study, read, eat or watch TV or listen to music. If in any way possible, asign a different place for these activities.
Good luck, and hope this has been helpful.

According to Feng shui the best position of the bed is perpendicular to door line not toward it, and also no mirrors in the bedroom.

When the bed is in direct line with the door it is referred to as the 'coffin position' so, naturally i try to stay away from facing the door. I've recently moved house and at first found it more comfortable in my bedroom with my bed in the position you describe, but after studying fengshui decided to put it in the 'commanding position', which is the corner farthest from the door and nestled into the corner. I found that i sleep much better in this position. If you have the space, and if you share your bed with a partner it is always advisable to have an equal space on either side of the bed, maybe with a table and lamp.
Best wishes!

Yes it is. I have mine that way, as long as you don't have anything blocking the pathway to the door. Positioning the bed opposite the door eliminates the element of surprise. Also giving the room a soft dreamy look creates a sense of peace and restfulness.

your question is somewhat vague. it is bad if your bed is in line with the opening or mouth of the door.
