READ ALL!
Good ole Timothy says it LOUD and CLEAR
Give an answer for the TRUTH that is with in you...
We should KNOW exactally what TRUTH is so that we can give an answer for it...
the problem is everyone has different truths... please allow me to examine this... its quite simple actually... check it out..
TRUTH... that means that there is a RIGHT and WRONG way...
Is it true that 1 + 1 = 2? um.... yEs...
is it true that 1 + 1 = 23321? well... um... nO...
wow... there must be a right way... and a wrong way then right?... lol...
Look at the problem... there is only ONE TRUE answer...
that means that TRUTH consists of ONE way...
Jesus said "no one comes to the father except threw ME"
Jesus also said "I am THE way, THE TRUTH and THE life, no man comes to the father except threw me"...
well... what does that say about Jesus and truth?
I think that Christians need to give answers for the TRUTH that is in them...
they need to continue communication with the Father and let him mold them into Bible UNDERSTANDING Christians... that is the underlining problem here...
Christians are not taking a stand.. they are not reading the Bible.. they are not learning what they need to learn...
question: How can a Christian DEFEND his faith if he does not know what it is he is defending?
Some people are GUN HOE about defending their faith yet have no ammunition... and some christians have penty of ammo yet no desire to defend their own faith....
its all about communication... prayer... that God can give us what we need during the time we need it... that God will shine threw your words... that the Holy Spirit will speak to the person listening... and that you BOTH will be blessed... if this does not happen then there is no reason to even open your mouth...
thank you...
:)

First, this isn't really a question, it's statement somewhat akin to a call-to-arms.
Now, in my experience, even the theists that claim to "know exactly what [they're] talking about" are guilty of innumerable counts of fallacious logic. Find one such individual you believe knows their subject, and actually think critically as you listen to what they say, analyze it and keep an ear out for logical fallacies and the like.
Now, I'm not sure why you talk in terms of "taking out" and "mak[ing yourselves]... easy targets." The few times I do debate theists is because they initiate the debate themselves. Almost invariably, they eventually either give up and walk away, begin to get belligerent/rude/insulting to the point where I end the debate, or they'll fall back on "x says y so y must be true" or something similarly fallacious and refuse to budge from there (I assume this is what you mean by being "taken out").
If you think knowing what you're talking about would help prevent situations like the above, please do so yourself and encourage others to do so as well - I do enjoy the occasional debate, but only when said debate is honest, rational, and civil.
Have fun!

You seem to think that most atheists would like to 'take Christians out'. I wonder what you mean by that. Regardless, it's not easy to shoot a fish in a barrel if the barrel is filled with water. I love metaphors..

In defense of most Christians, it is not taught in church where Christian holidays originated. When I went to church, we were taught not to learn about other religions or beliefs, or ask questions about them. So, we were basically told what to believe. Now, however, there really isn't any excuse due to easy access of information.

Definitely. It's so important not to follow a tradition or a custom without first looking into its origins. The Bible should be our authority, and we should know it front to back.

It's true that I don't know much about what I believe in.
But, hey, I'm learning, and the one thing I know: Jesus loves me and he gave his life for me.
That's enough for me to follow him.

i,.... and many other atheist's would not even consider shooting a chook,.... let alone another fellow human being.
Many of us have friend's,.... who believe in a god in heaven.
All we're trying to say,.... is that, that belief is simply not backed up, with any evidence or fact's.

Sorry, walked your shoes for 30 yrs, know every story, every angle, every lie. And they are....all lies. You are preaching to the wall. Just open you eyes and you will realize the wool that is over them, its right before you if you just look.
