I am at my wits end with this cat. I have contemplated shooting it with a BB gun, or putting out a tasty bowl of antifreeze for it to drink. I would like, however, to avoid any sort of legal ramifications involved with the killing of this cat. May I capture this cat and transport it far away without any sort of legal consequence? It does not appear to have any sort of collar indicating it to be domesticated, however it does not appear to be wild/feral or afraid of people. I can see the bastard sitting down there now, making obnoxious noises for no reason. For legal reference, I am located in Cincinnati, OH, in the United States. Please help, and possibly save a cat's life.

Get a dog! That sucks, but don't kill it, I watch Animal Cops on TV and they'll throw the book at ya!

ok so the deal is that if you catch it and take it somewhere, it will with 95% accuracy find its way back to that very spot in a very short period of time even if it may die trying. You could trying feeding it, but the others are right we are in the height of mating season so there are a BUNCH of possibilities....Killing it on the other hand seems like a really bad idea. But animal control will probably kill it anyway so please think VERY seriously before calling them. I would first look online to see if you can find some shelters that you could drop it off at, or perhaps catch it and get it nuetered and them re-release it. I just want what is best for the cat and you to get your sanity back.

Take out a garden house; turn the water on and spray the cat with it. He'll scuttle plenty quick. Turn the water hose on him if he returns. If its done to him two or three times, he'll avoid the place an go elsewhere. The water won't hurt him.

The cat may be an intact Tom and he can smell a female cat in heat. That's why he is yowling.

Don't shoot him or hurt him in any way. You can get in to really really serious trouble.

1st question...do you have a female cat? It sounds like a male calling to some female in your area. It probably has an irresponsible owner who didn't get him neutered. You can't kill or make suffer every cat who is answering the call of nature! I would call the city/county animal control for further advice.

Definitely talk to the humane society; they may lend you a humane trap to catch this loudmouth cat so you can turn it over to them. It is probably so loud because it has not been "fixed". Don't resort to anything drastic. This will take care of the problem. One other thing if you don't want to go the trap route: get yourself a super soaker and let him have it. Might convince him to sing elsewhere.

How dare you suggest such! Take it to the humane society or animal shelter. Just because its bothering you b/c its hungry/lonely/sick doesn't mean it deserves to die. Be a man (or a woman) and take care of things like a decent human being, not by doing something some ignorant redneck would do.

Contact animal control or the humane society, they should take care of it for you. One of the reasons people should neuter their pets, so they don't annoy the neighbours!

Failing that, you can try turning the hose on it, it might get the message.

call animal control or as you said catch it, but don't take it off somewhere. just because it has no collar means nothing. most cat collars snap off easy due to the tight places cats sometimes go so they don't get hanged by their collar. take it to the local shelter or whatever animal service in your area.
