Why wasn't she taking a multivitamin all along? She should have been taking a good mulitvitamin since she was a baby. Yes she can take Omega 3 also and be sure to include a good antioxidant suppplement.

If she is 18 years old, then there should be no problem if she is healthy. If she has health problems or if she is a small child (18 months) consult her doctor. Ppl should realize that vitamins and Omega3 capsules are NOT a substitute for healthy food choices. Some ppl have this idea that they can eat all the pizza and cheesecake they want if they take vitamins and omega 3.

It all comes down to WHAT KIND of vitamin. I mean the QUALITY. FDA states there is n such law as the label on the bottle need to match what actually is in the content. This means you can not be sure what you are putting in your mouth. A LOT of company take advantage of this, and then something happens, they do a recall. Meantime, they use general public as a Genie Pigs making Millions. Find a company such as Shaklee who offer the highest quality product from row material to developing stage to packaging process to storing method, to the day they deliver the product to your door. Ask vitamin company of your choice questions such as 1) does it come with unconditional life time guarantee on the quality? 2) Where does the row material comes from? 3) Does it have a clinical study done by your own independent lab and has the test result been published in medical journal? Most wont respond to you because they can not. Or they will give you a broad answer. 75% of what you pay for your vitamin at Grocery store, health food store, or GNC, you are paying for their advertisement, not for the content of product you are buying.

If she's a child (you didn't specify 18 years or 18 months) you can give her pediatric multivitmins. Check with your pediatrician on what she needs and what supplements you should give her.
If she's an adult, she should be taking control of her own medication - and 18 years old isn't too early for Omega 3 or antioxidents or flavinoids.

since you are giving them to her im assuming she is 18 months. it would be better to give her vitamins in liquid form. there are also vitamins specially made for children.
