What are you like 4 or something? First off the real Ninja's no longer exist. They died out a little after the end of the Samurai. Ninjitsu is still around but for the most part only the hand-to-hand aspect is taught anymore and that is only taught in a few places in the world. The rest of the "ninjitsu" schools around teach a modified version of Karate or some other art and they pretend it's Ninjitsu since so few people will know the difference.
What does the military have to do with an assassin? You think the military is going to come rescue you when someone tries to kill you? No, it would be the police and if Ninjas were still real today the police would arrive about 10 minutes after you had died and the Ninja had escaped.

Why would I be afraid of ninjas? There is only 1 left he's like 80 years old and lives half a world away.

Hey, just because we have the best military doesn't mean there aren't ninjas here. Besides, I'd only be afraid of them if they were evil ninjas, and after me.
PS: If you happen to be an evil ninja, please don't do a back flip off of my roof and cut any of my appendages off while still in midair.

hmm, lets see afraid of an assasin using obsolete techniques?
There are real assasins and hitmen out there today that would wipe out every ninja.
Imagine what one sniper team with unlimited ammo would do to the population of feudal japan?
Not only ninjas- but THEY would wipe out the whole population. and the whole time the feudal lords would think it was some kind of "plague".
