Wow, yeah, 3 is difficult. I have ones that I don't necessarily like to listen to but have done the roles and found them very difficult.
Evita would be a big example in that category.....other than that..
West Side Story, Assassins, Sweeney Todd (one of the greatest), Into the Woods, Grand Hotel, High Society, The King and I, My Fair Lady (awesome show and very difficult), Pippin (I love Ben Vereen's performance), 3 Guys Naked from the Waist Down, Kopit and Yeston's Phantom, Jesus Christ Superstar, Damn Yankees, La Cage Aux Faux, The Will Rogers Follies, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Les Mis (only the original cast), State Fair, The Music Man, Cabaret, Oklahoma, The Secret Garden, Tommy, Ragtime, 5 Guys named Moe, Carousel, 1776, A Little Night Music, Man of La Mancha, Guys and Dolls....I could just keep going......Thank for asking. Best to you.

Romeo et Juliette : de la Haine a l'amour - It's a foreign musical about Romeo and Juliet with brilliant music, performers, costumes, and lighting!
Cats - Well, the title explains itself, but it's fantastic what these people do!
Rent - 8 friends trying to survive in East Village of NYC. It's got great songs, and it has it's happy and sad moments.
Wicked - The story prior to the Wizard of Oz. It also has the most creative and wonderful songs.
Bare A Pop Opera - It tells the story of two Catholic school boys who are gay and in love and are trying to conceal it. it's very sad, but has beautiful music. It's all available on YouTube.
Rocky Horror Picture Show - A couple's car break down and end up at a house where strange things begin to happen. It's very funny, and full of action and entertainment!
Phantom of the Opera - Pretty much a big love trianle between a chorus girl, her childhood friend, and the Phantom under the Paris Opera House. It's very eerie and mysterious, but it's recently been announced that they're coming out with a sequel (for more info, go to www.reallyuseful.com)
Les Miserables - The story is mostly about ex convict Jean Valjean and his journey through helping people around him. Very sad, but again has excellent music
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - Tells the Bible story of Joseph. It's a very colorful, dazzling musical, with a great variety of different musical songs.
Aspects of Love - Just one huge love story, but it has wonderful music. It was taken off the stage for quite some time, but they're just now bringing it back! (www.reallyuseful.com)
Billy Elliot - I love the movie more, but Elton John created the musical around a year or two ago. It's about a boy who has a desire to dance, but his father makes it seem unacceptable.

1) Les Miz
2) Jeykll and Hyde
3) Rent
4) Pippen
5) The Pajama Game
6) Sound of Music
7) Phantom of the Opera
8) Into The Woods
9) South Pacific
10) Brigadoon
11) Jesus Christ Superstar
Those are probably my top ones, not in any particular order.
They are fairly common ones, but if any you don't know are up there, I'd encourage you to look them up. I've seen Les Miz, The Producers, Jekyll & Hyde, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Movin' Out, and the Grinch all on Broadway and am hoping to see phantom, rent, and wicked soon.

You can't beat "Oklahoma" . Also "Oliver" and 'West Side Story". For rock musicals, I like "Hair", "Jesus Christ Superstar", "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", and "Tommy".
