hello - bonjour (formal)
salut (informal)

bye - au revoir
- à tout a l'heure
- à plus

thanks - merci

how are you - comment allez vous (formal)
- comment vas tu (informal)

have you eaten? - est-ce que vous avez déja mangé? (formal)
- est-ce que tu as mangé? (informal)

i'm hungry - j'ai faim

i'm happy - je suis content(e)

i'm sad - je suis triste

i'm single - je suis célibataire

In the morning

Bonjour Monsieur
Bonjour Madame
Bonjour Mademoiselle

In the evening:
Bonsoir Monsieur..

Au revoir, Monsieur = Good bye

Bonne nuit Monsieur = Good night

Comment allez vous? = How are you?
Tres bien, merci = Fine, thank you
Pas mal = so and so
Pas tres bien = Not fine....too bad, unwell

Enchante' de faire votre connaissance = Nice to meet you

A tout a l'heure = See you again
Merci = Thank you
De rien = You are welcome

Yiya has some things wrong:

"Allô" is only used for answering the phone.
"Bonjour" is written together.

To say "bye" you could also say "À plus" ("'til next time"). "Adieu" is really more definite. Somewhat like "farewell".
