I'm sorry about your family sickness!!! It sounds to me like it is just the "bug" doing its thing. Your child may have also has some other thing brewing that was set off by the bug. I was recently sick from Thanksgiving until after New years, while the same sickness lasted just a couple of days in my friends. Making a Doctor's appointment was the best thing you can do, and probably the only thing until you find out what it is. Just try to keep him/her comfortable and hydrated, especially if they have diarhhea. If your other family members had it, chances are it isn't deathly or anything that serious. Any medicine or advice the doctor will give should greatly help!
But yeah, like the above poster said... it is OK to be over cautious! So don't worry about bothering asking the doctor too many questions and giving them every detail! All will be fine in time!!!
I'll be praying too!

it could be the flu.... or something serious... get her checked tom... until then just try to keep her temp down...
FYI... just about a month ago a local doc was sued because a father had taken his 7 year old son to him because he had flu like symptoms, and the doc sent him home saying that it was just a stomach bug.. The doc did this twice.. and 3 days after the second visit, the little boy died of pnemonia... My husband works closely with the father... So just because a doc tells you something.. don't think everytrhing is fine and dandy... still continue to keep a close eye, and don't think you are being too paraniod... anything can happen... so if you have to then get a 2nd opinion....
I can't tell you if it is without knowing what it is sorry.. but give luke warm baths, and maybe put some vicks vaper rub in a cup of boiling water in her room might make her feel better... try to get her to eat some crackers and try some pedialyte pop sickles... to keep her from gettign dehydrated... Sorry she is ill ... I know how rough it is!!!
I hope everyone gets better soon...

i'm sure youre much more experienced w/ this stuff than i am, since i have no kids...
but if you're really worried about it (its always good to trust your instinct) then you could take her to emergency (like if she is throwing up a LOT and her fever gets pretty high..) Just keep an eye on her. My mom was pretty overly paranoid when i was little, and i remember going to the emergency room a lot.... guess its better to be safe then sorry though.
Just make sure she stays hydrated, not just w/ water but also with gatorade (or the equivalent that they give to kids w/ electrolytes..not sure what its called?)
it sounds like it is contagious since your other kids both had it recently. Do some more research online, don't just rely on people's answers on here! I hear Webmd.com is an excellent site.

Dont get tensed up. Its problably a mild infection. Depending where you stay, It could be Typhoid fever, Worm infestation, Malaria.
A dose of a antibiotic will do the trick. Consult your doctor and have the tests done. Things to check: Urine, Stool, Full Blood Report, Malaria test and Typhoid

i don't know where you are but out here-near chicago- there is a nasty flu bug going around. it takes 7-10 days to run it's course and can have any number of symptoms including the fever, vomiting and diahrrea. quite a few people i know have come down with it.very contagious. try to keep her hydrated as best you can. popsicles, pedialyte,7-up ar gatorade are fine. good luck. i hope you don't get it too.

I t could be a severe case of the norvo virus. since your other children had it your 5 year old picked it up because maybe her immune system was in a weakened state to begin with and when she caught the bug it affected her more severely than the other children, this may be why its lasting longer. go to the ped and see what he says. rubberstampr

I know this is weird but a naturpath told me this one and i works. Give him small amounts of coke. Not diet coke it has to be the real stuff. It helps to stop vomitting
