I backed up my film collection onto my hard drive recently and since then one of my DVD's has become damaged so that I can't use it. I have tried using Nero to put all the original DVD Video TS files back onto a blank DVD but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. Can it be done with Nero or do I need a different program?

I normally don't use Nero for burning DVD's. For the actual burning, I use CloneDVD.

But at any rate you will need a DVD compliant folder which contains both VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. The AUDIO_TS folder will be empty but it is necessary. It will be created it if it's not present....and if it isn't automatically created you can manually create it.

In the VIDEO_TS folder will be VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB and various "VTS" files depending on the content of your DVD. These are the files necessary for the DVD to function in your player. The larger VTS_**.VOB files are the video content of your DVD. Anything with a .BUP extension is a redundant file in case the .IFO one is corrupt.

Nero should burn the disc of all of these files are present.

An ISO or image of the disc would have been the best choice. And i believe Nero can do that for the next time you want to do this.

Basically making an image or ISO of your disk lets you compress everything, menus, subtitles, languages, everything into one image of the disc. So when you burn it back on the the disc, the image is opened and the disc is copied back on like nothing happened.

The image is also the best idea if you want all the menus intact, just copying the video you only get THE video...but we all love those deleated scenes dont we?

Hope that helps.

First your drive have to be a DVD/CD-RW (DVD compatiable and Read/Write type..then install the software named "Direct DVD Maker" to burn your DVD (not CD) . Hope for the best.
