I did go hiking in some thick woods the other day, I had a couple of ticks I had to remove but this is NOT lyme or rocky mt for sure. About 24 to 48 hours later (Maybe unrelated) I noticed I had some bug bites. Just 4 or 5 bites but now another dozen or so bites have shown up in the last 24 hours or so. I have triple checked my room/bed I dont appear to have bed bugs and besides this happens during the day where as I have not seen any pests on me. The bites itch about like a mosquito or flea bite, maybe look a little more like a fireant bite. I dont notice when the "bite" happens, only later I notice I have an itchy bite. By tomorrow I am afraid I will have 2 or 3 dozen "bites". I am taking some antibiotics just in case and I have put military grade zinc ointment on some of the bites but it doesnt seem to do much. Could this be some kind of Skin mite? It seems like I can feel something crawling on me at times but I look and there is nothing, may just be in my head. Anyone??

Also note that no bites have shown up between my fingers, I do not think they are chiggars because I have so many new bites showing up. I dont have insurance at the moment so I am trying to exhaust all my resources before seeing the doctor. I have been researching the web for hours now and really havent found anything yet. I live in west central Florida, dont know if that matters. I have to believe the sooner this is identified and treated the less problematic it will be. Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe scabies? I do know that the bites are kind of pinpoint looking and go in sort of a track mark pattern. They are supposed to be insanely itchy at night and like to pop up in sweaty creases or along the shins.

Could you maybe be having an allergic reaction to a new cream or fabric softner or soap or something? I really hope that you get it figured out. In the meantime try soaking in an oatmeal bath for the itch.

You didn't say what the bites look like or how big they are. You should never take antibiotics without a doctor prescribing them. If you removed ticks you really need to see a doctor. There's a chance you didn't remove them correctly or completely. This is nothing to mess around with. I realize you have no insurance but you really should have it checked ASAP. It could even be a rash caused by a plant or something. Go find out!
