Real or not, there is nothing funnier than the paternity tests on Maury.

It is probably a little bit of both. I think the Montel show is a little bit of both. I think Jerry Springer is all acting. I think that Tyra Banks is for real (and I think she's awesome, by the way). It depends upon the show and the format, as well as the host of the show's personal style.

A friend of mine was on the Jerry Springer Show once. It was an episode about meeting and marrying people on the internet. They told her ahead of time what questions were going to be asked and how to answer them. It's all just play acting.

They also tell the audience when to clap, and when to laugh, etc.

God bless,
Stanbo

I think that being on a talk show you need some acting skills because you are in front of a live audience as well as on national television. I think the situations are real but dramatized for ratings :)

Jerry Springer admitted to having actors on his panels a few years ago. An acting student friend of mine told me that Oprah's audience is all acting students...

I agree with you. I once thought Jerry Springers show was real..how silly was I..but now I have watched the people really closely and they seem to grin or smile in those pauses..like they have forgotten their lines..so many things stand out in that show as being fake.

It depends on the show. Jerry Springer is definitely acting. Ellen is just interviews with actors. I really don't watch them, so I don't know how to answer you.

there's plenty of acting, and there's plenty of "real" people who like to put on a show on tv.
