The only reason you have to restart the computer after an installation would be if there are files currently in use that need to be modified during the reboot. If you do not reboot before going on to install something else, there is a chance that the next installer will need access to those same files. Then, upon rebooting, the previous installation that required a reboot will be corrupt or erroneous. It's really not worth it - especially when dealing with device drivers and hardware patches.

For the most part, it's a safe bet that no harm will be done - especially if you've done so before without negative results. Sometimes, it's also possible to do what is commonly referred to (though, incorrectly) as a soft-reboot. Whereby, you simply disabled the explorer.exe process, then reload it. Sometimes this is sufficient for the files to be modified. But, other times it's not. The safe bet would be to just do the reboot.

Yes you can install of the programs and then restart the computer. Same when your computer will auto update software and virus protection softwares. Some of the new programs you will install since put on the market already have updates so you should let it automaticly update and restart computer after all of them update or restart when you are finished with what you are doing.

Hope this helps!

A restart doesn't take long. It is probably best to do the restart now just in case some of the following programme installations use some of the files that you have updated.

You can install all the programs you want then restart.....
I would rather error on the safe side....I already have enough issues with the operating system as it is, so I never access the windows folder, and I always restart the pc after any install.
