Your volunteer center and/or the United Way can help you find specific community projects and non-profit agencies that match your charter in your local area. Volunteer centers specialize in connecting individuals and groups with specific volunteer projects and resources.

Here are some links to help you get started:

My volunteer center has a youth leadership program that they are able to adapt to school clubs. They utilize a curriculum from the Points of Light Foundation.

Your local center may be able to provide you with some alternative ideas and projects that you are seeking.

Good luck!

All your ideas are very good. For some book suggestions, visit http://www.animalrightsmalta.com/books.html

About volunteering at animal centers and "risk liability", don't take his/her word for it. Ask around.

Wish you luck.
