I was on a cruise this past year and one of our stops was a stopover in Puerto Rico. I was in a cool little corner pub close to a Cruise Ship dock and met a very cute bartender. She told me Biegas was gorgeous and very fun! Would this be a good spot to visit and chill out for a week?

Th eplace you are looking for is Vieques. Vieques is a sister island located off the east coast. You can fly form San Juan aiport for about $150 or drive to Fajardo and take the ferry ($4.00 roundtrip) or take a flight ($25).

Vieques is a beutiful place, very laid back and the Martineau Bay Resort is excellent. Vieques is full of secluded beaches, white sand, pristine beaches, and a beautiful Bioluminiscent Bay where you can go kayaking at night. Preferably with no moon, the name is Mosquito Bay and this is the link: http://www.golden-heron.com/biobay.html.

In this link you will find more info on Vieques: http://www.isla-vieques.com/puerto-rico/introduction.html

But it is true that there is not much going on at night. So it would be great for 3 days max.

Hope I helped!

Vieques is a great place to visit. There are gorgeous beaches and the people are warm and friendly. There's a couple of interesting things to do (the bioluminiscent bay and the Miraflores fort), but be warned: there's not much to do in terms of nightlife. But if you want to "get away from it all" and would be content visiting a new beach every day, Vieques is it! Enjoy your visit!
