There were numerous events that led up to the Revolution. The colonies wanted separation from England and the King. Many issues like being taxed without due representation fueled the fire of rebellion. The British were also notorious for seizing private property without warrant, arresting people without warrant, having troops occupy private homes without permission from the owner, illegal searches by British authorities. And then there were the tea and stamp taxes.
All of these things, and some more, got the rebellion started. When the colonies could no longer stand being under British rule, it separated from them, which in the eyes of the British was treason. The British attempted to put down the rebellion by force and were eventually defeated by Colonial troops.

There were alot of reasons that the war started. One was taxation without representation. That is the only one at this late of an hour that I can think of. They committed treason against the crown when they wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence. That is why they were in a locked room with the windows shut and everything that was written during that meeting was burned there in the hall.

It started in 2009, after the election of Hillary Clinton. The story leaked that the electronic tabulation of the votes was fixed by Diebold, and thus, her calling for RFID implantation of all newborns was void.
The Supreme Court fled to Brazil, as they knew history keenly, and saw the likelihood of aerial dehumanization.
The remaining survivors restarted America 2.0 and passed a simple law: that there could be no laws, nor elected officials, ever again, under penalty of death.
Civilization flourished as never before, and government was forgotten, completely within 120 years.

It started because the American colonies were ruled by a dictator, who ignored best interests of the colonists, and who was not accountable to any law or authority.
So, the Founders of this country decided to throw off the yolk of tyranny and establish a government that would be bound by law and accountable to the people.

It was the arrogance of Parliament. Their thinking is the colonist can't self governor themselves.
