he and his family practiced prior to him becoming a prophet sent by Allah?

Does the Qura'n tell you about his ancestry, like the Holy Bible shows Christians Jesus' bloodline going back to King David, Abraham, and then Noah? If this is in the Qura'n, please tell me where.

Thank you for your answers.

His uncle Abu Talib is a pagan worshipper. And it did stated that he refused to convert to Islam as he had been worshipping idols and refused to offend the ancestors. So I guess they must be pagan worshipper.

He was not the founder of Islam. He was the final messenger. Islam evolved over the ages. There were four holy books revealed through other prophets. The bible and torah are also considered to be holy books in islam revealed to other prophets earlier. There were 25 prophets mentioned in the Quraan dating back to Adam the first prophet. The Quraan is the final and ruling book and the prohet Muhammad is the final prophet. It says so in the Quraan. he originally belonged to a Quraish tribe. ?One of the many tribes in saudi arabia at the time. Im not sure what they believed religiously. Originally prophets did not preach islam as an actual religion it was more of a way of life and abgtreater spirituality. There were many christians in earlier days who actualy followed the prophets but not islam as a religion, rather islam as a set of values. If your realy interested then you should read the book the history of islamic societies, it wasnt written by a muslim. i think it was written by a professor from harvard or oxford. anyway it traces the progression of isl;am from the time of the prophet Muhammad and it shows how islam spread and the politics surrounding it. Its very usefull in understanding the reasons for current day animosity and its not biased at all.

Muslims also belive in most of the same prophets as christians do. Noah, abraham....just the names and stories change slightly. There is especialy a lot of overlap with islamic values and jewish ones. ironicaly enough.

He was orphaned at a very young age so he never really had a family.
But his uncle took him in his care and his uncle was a pagan, but he respected Islam.
It was said that all the prophet;s life he was always wondering and curious about God.
He did believe in a higher power.
There is a story of a sage ad Wise christian man who saw the prophet when he was on a camel with the lady who took care of him for a while, when he was orphaned and before he was taken in the care of his uncle. It was a scorching day in the desert, and everyone was very hot. But through the mercy of Allah there was a cloud over the prophet and the lady who took care of him while they were on their camels. The cloud followed them wherever they went. When the camels stopped for a break the christian man saw the prophet and told the lady that this boy will be someone special and people will love him.
And whenever(rarely) he went out because his friends begged him to got with to kind of like bars places, somehow he would always fall asleep again through God's mercy. Somehow his eyes would just shut and he never had a sip of alcohol. Also his eyes never followed a girl/woman when she would walk. While the other filthy men would watch women as thye walked in a sexual way.

When he was a young child he was always up in the mountains thinking about a supreme and higher being.

This is all i know.
God Bless.

May peace and blessings be on all the Messengers of God. Prophet Muhammad is a direct descendant of Isma'il, the first son of Prophet Ibrahim(Abraham). Prophet Muhammad was born in Makkah as a fullfilment of the prayer of Abraham as explained in the following verses of the Holy Quran, a book of revelations from God to the Prophet.

002.124 And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands,
which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded:
"And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within
the reach of evil-doers."

There were over 300 gods being worshiped in Mecca (Muhammad's birth place) by pilgrims who came there each year to pray at the Ka'aba, a small cubic building that housed a black meteorite and effigies of the various gods. One of these gods was Allah, the moon god and his three daughters, Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat. Allah and his daughters were the gods that Muhammad and his tribe the Quraysh worshiped before Muhammad claimed that he had visitations from the angel Gabriel (an angel taken from the Jewish Scriptures).

Prophet Muhammed was born around 570 A.D. in Mecca in Arabia. Only know that he married at 25 to a 40-year-old wealthy widower. His wealth allowed leisure to pursue his interest in religion.

He became disgusted with idolatry and desired to rid Arabia of idol worship. So probably his own family worshiped the 360 idols at that time.

Mohamed mecca and the Kaaba were all connected with pagan moon worship with polytheist Pantheon.
Mohamed gathered together certain aspects and Jewish and Christan beliefs and combined it with native Arabian pagan worships such as genies. Three of the Arabic deities are mentioned in the Koran. Generally speak the Saudi government discourages scholar ship in the origin of Islam so it cant be exposed and analyzed.
the Kaaba is known as a polytheistic worships site with many idols which were destroyed, how ever the meteorite that Mohammedans worship in the Kaaba was retained and it origin myth was changed to give Mohamed's invented religion some credibility, by claiming it as being placed there by a Jewish patriarch, who Mohamed then claim to be an Arab patriarch
