How big will your children get? I hope you didnt get ripped off.
A dogs size depends on many factors, life style, diet exercise, fixed, or not.
Love your pet for the beautiful soul it has...not how much it weighs.

John Cena has it wrong, there arent all different types of chihuahus, just long and smooth coat, and coat legth has absolutely nothing to do with size! Anyway, if your chihuahua is pure bred, the way breeders usually estimate is by the weight chart http://www.ahkennel.net/weightchart.htm
or double the 12 week weight and allow for about half a pound. According to that chart, your chi might be around 7lbs.

If your chi is 2.5 lb at 7 weeks, he is large for a chihuahua. He will probably be about 10 lb. Will you love him any less?

Is he a full blooded Chihuahua? If he is mixed it depends on the size of the parents. Do you know the type of Chihuahua he is? There are tea cup Chihuahuas, long coat Chihuahuas, and toy Chihuahuas.
Teacup and Toy are full grown at the weight of 1.5 to 3 lbs
Long Coat normally weigh up to: 4 lbs

Not really, but i wouldn't be too worried. Just make sure that he gets the nutrients her needs without overfeeding him and he should grow up happy and healthy.
