You should be !! Coca cola can get coins sparkling clean !!!! Sodas and soft drinks are extremely acidic. So much so that they can eat through the lining of an aluminium can and leach aluminium from the can if it sits on the shelf too long !!! Mmmmm nice !!! The natural human body exists at a PH level of about 7.0. Sodas and soft drinks have a PH of about 2.5 !! This means that you are ingesting something that is 100's of 1000's times more acidic than your body !!!! YIKES !!! Not only that, but for each can you drink it will dehydrate your body so much so that you actually need to replace water lost from each can you drink with 8 - 12 glasses of water .......... mmmmm I nearly fell off my chair too when I read that one.
So, mmmmmmm yep, its true coca cola can clean coins!!
Do your body a favor, drink water and loads of it. Ditch coca cola and stay young forever and banish blemishes and pimples forever !!!
PEACE & LIGHT

It cleans copper coins very well. Coca-Cola contains phosphoric acid, and this reacts with the tarnish (oxidization) on the coin.
I wouldn't worry, though. Stomach acid is much stronger - it'll clean a coin very quickly. Besides, Coke cleans via a chemical reaction with the metal - not a problem unless you have a copper stomach!

Yes it cleans coins and quite a few other metals. It also rots teeth! If you put a tooth in a glass of coke and left it there for 3 weeks it will have dissolved it completely. Scary when you think that they have found skulls millions of years old, that still have their teeth in tact. Perhaps that was before they invented coke cola

It's true. It will also clean the corrosion off the contacts of your car battery. But the acids in your stomach are so much more corrosive that you really don't have to worry about Cokes unless you're drinking huge amounts.

Don't take anyones word for it. Try it yourself if you are keen and place a small piece of meat in as well and see if it lasts till the next day.

coke has acid in it..its also used to clean car batteries and people pour it down their drains in their sinks to clean them as well... I myself dont drink soda but you'd think if it was that harsh on metals and what not-it wouldnt be good for your body.

Yes its true...Coke is very acidic and can even clean an oxidized penny...but it doesn't do anything to use because it has the same acidity as the acids in our stomach..so it doesn't eat through our stomach...
