Where Jesus told about a nation that had a beam in its eye, and went to remove a mote in another's.

Silly man. Nations don't do that!

Well, day and night were created before the sun, and then there's a talking snake, and the first born Egyptian cattle died after another plague wiped out ALL the cattle. There's this nifty little passage which mandates stoning unruly children. Later on, this virgin has a baby and toward the end there's a drug-induced hallucination which is supposed to be a vision about the end of the wold. All in all, the whole thing is a hoot and a half.

Scatological humor is beneath the Bible, eh? See what you make of 1 Samuel 4-6. The Philistines, having captured the Ark of the Covenant, are visited with twin plagues: mice and, depending on whose translation you accept, either tumors or hemorrhoids. Cecil naturally prefers the latter. Consider the ineffable poignance of the following: "There was a deadly destruction throughout all the city . . . and the men that died not were smitten with the hemorrhoids: and the cry of the city went up to heaven."

oh there is allot of funny in the good book...
how about the part were a chic is talking to a snake and it talks her into eating a apple? no one thought it strange to be conversing withe reptiles?
or the part about a nine hundred year old man that has to build a boat big enough for two of every animal in the world to fit. then go and collect them all by him self because the voice told him he can't tell no one?
or the part were an old virgin gives birth to the little baby Jesus you know born in a stable but his dad is the creator of all... and on the funny parts go have fun it's almost one big joke book.

I find the episode in the Gospel where Jesus chases the money lenders out of the Temple with a homemade whip hysterical. Many Christians don't see it this way but in the Gospels, Jesus makes many jokes and puns. He refers to his disciples who were fishermen as fishers of men for example.

The Book of Job is pretty funny also, especially the scenes when Job's wife tells him to lay down and die.

Picture this image; Lazarus coming out of the tomb. Remember that graveclothes of that time and place consisted of a winding sheet -- the guy was wrapped in cloth from head to toe. So, after that big dramatic pronouncement of "Lazarus, come forth!" the poor schmuck had to hop out of the tomb.

A lot of Christ's answer to questions from detractors had a marvelous sense of wit to them -- not exactly the stuff that gets the yuks at comedy clubs, but I suspect that assembled crowds laughed at some of them.

I thought the "rising from the dead" part was pretty funny. Also enjoyed the part where Judas kisses Jesus (ha ha!).
