...I love this passage from 2 Corinthians 12. It says:
...7 Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me--to keep me from exalting myself!
...8 Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me.
...9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness " Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
...10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
************************************************************
...This tells me that I can rejoice in my physical problems, weaknesses, insults, distresses, persecutions, and difficulties. God will show Himself strong and sufficient in my weaknesses.

I like Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21
But, Dang that a long passage to read. I have done it it 4 days. But, that using CD's and reading along to keep pace. Just a fun thing to do. I fixing to try for 3 days next 3 day weekend we get, I got everything ready and bought some nice headphones. The CD's are dramatized and it really make for an experience.
Psalm 51 been one that has it's reasons.
I knew this old lady and she could not see well in her age, but, she could quote the whole book of Psalm, I can not even quote 51. :-(

1 Kings 19: 11-12
Elijah stood and the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind, a great earthquake. But the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake, a great fire. But the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire a still, small voice. And it was so. ---- I like it because it shows Gods gentle spirit, and His authority over creation at the same time. I think that this still, small voice can still be heard to this day if people will listen. It can be heard in the abused, homeless children, and people in bondage. etc. etc. A groaning creation crying out for the Lord. Peace.

Ephesians 6:10-20 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints

Reason: kids today should be brought up in a home of love, nurturing and discipline. Yes, I said discipline. But that is another sermon for another day.

Luke 10:25-28
The MOST important commandment :
"One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: 'Teacher what should I do to inherit eternal life?' Jesus replied, 'What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?' The man answered, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. And, Love your neighbor as you love yourself.' 'Right!' Jesus told him. 'Do this and you will live!'

Ecclesiates 4:9-10
9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

Proverbs 2: 1-5: "My son, if you will receive my sayings and treasure up my own commandments with yourself, 2Â so as to pay attention to wisdom with your ear, that you may incline your heart to discernment; 3Â if, moreover, you call out for understanding itself and you give forth your voice for discernment itself, 4Â if you keep seeking for it as for silver, and as for hid treasures you keep searching for it, 5Â in that case you will understand the fear of Jehovah, and you will find the very knowledge of God."
Isaiah 40: 28-31: "Have you not come to know or have you not heard? Jehovah, the Creator of the extremities of the earth, is a God to time indefinite. He does not tire out or grow weary. There is no searching out of his understanding. 29Â He is giving to the tired one power; and to the one without dynamic energy he makes full might abound. 30Â Boys will both tire out and grow weary, and young men themselves will without fail stumble, 31Â but those who are hoping in Jehovah will regain power. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not tire out.”
