Which you all do. Whenever confronted on it taking as much faith, thus being its own religion, you all scream NO. We believe in NOTHING so how can it be a religion. Which it is, but that is besides the point.

If you claim it isnt, then why do you come to the RELIGIOUS and SPIRITUAL section to talk about it :)

It is a #1 false religian where Darwin is a supream god. They 'believe' the universe 'popped' from nowhere and a life 'some how' emerged from non-life

First, religion is the belief in the supernatural, hence, Atheism is not a religion.

As to why atheist come to the R&S section, it's because while atheism isn't a religion, it IS antithetical to religion, and closely related in that atheists are bombarded by religious rhetoric daily. There is a struggle between the two, and there is NO OTHER FORUM in which to discuss this struggle. If you wish, why not petition Yahoo! for a specific forum in which to discuss the differences between the two groups?

Personally, I see R&S as a valid forum in which to discuss this philosophy as it directly impacts spirituality.

If your implication is that atheism is a religion because people discuss it here, your implication is absurd. It's like saying that because you park your car in a Catholic parking lot when you visit your Calvanist relative, that you must necessarily be Catholic.

Yeah... reread the name of this section. Then stfu.

I wont even go into the rest of this crap. Frankly I thought you were being sarcastic until I checked your profile. I didn't believe anyone could honestly be that stupid. I admit it, I was wrong.

What's an athiest?

Atheism is not a religion. Don't know about athieism.

Besides correcting your spelling, I'm here to discuss the removal of religion from our society. I don't have to belong to a religion to talk about religion.

You are just not the brightest of the bunch are you? Atheism is literally, the lack of religion, or a better interpretation: is the lack of gods seeing as the greek roots translate into:

"a: without"
and
"theos: gods"

Pick up a dictionary before you start slandering people.
All of the comments from you here are either racist, homophobic or just plain idiotic.

Atheism is the rejection of religion. That means it is ABOUT religion. So this is the place to talk about it. And this question gets asked like 50 times a day. Are you guys really that insecure that you can't take criticism?

I want you to know the truth, that God doesn't exist. Religion is a delusion.

Don't feel bad. I used to be delusional myself. I preached delusion. I converted people to delusion.

Right now, I am making amends.

This is asked a million times a day. But anyways, it is not a religon. Our descisions aren't based on faith but on things that have backing behind their claims.

*drink*

Religion has nothing to do with spirituality. In fact, the two are mutually exclusive.

Also, people who believe in "nothing" are Nihilists, not necessarily atheists.
