These Middle School girls just draw and whisper to one another every week and I can never gather the courage to speak up. Any suggestions? I know the Bible says for one person to talk to them, but after class I always forget.

They aren't answers that they are writing down. They write thier names a million times in bubble letters.

pick out the one's of them that are the leaders... and pull them aside with the whole "I know you are a leader and I need your help to guide the other kids..." spiel. It makes them feel good and think about setting an example.

Girls are bound to draw bubble letters. Its a way of life. It doesnt neccessarily mean they arent listening.

Give them an outline of what you are talking about with fill-in-the-blanks, then they can follow along and make bubble-letter answers on the sheet....

When all else fails, ask the individual a direct question about what you are talking about (Sara, would you mind sharing an example of a time when you heard God/felt defeated/made the right choice... fill in the blank....) its a little uncomfy for them at first, but they get used to it. My girls actually enjoy sharing... but dont know when to speak up...

We help sponsor the youth, but I work with the 10th and 11th grade girls... so they are a little more capable of paying attention... but those are the things I have found to work.

Good luck!!!

well if your teaching, give a little quiz, and homework assignments, I do that with my bible study. now if your one of the students and they are doing this, you could try and do something that I have done, and still do. Just get up and ask the teacher to pause for a moment, and just out right tell them to be quiet and pay attention, and tell them that it is rude and disrespectful to the teacher and the other students that are trying to learn, and very distracting. I did this in high school, and you'd be surprised how quiet the rest of the period was.

Get them to write down their answer's on a piece of paper. Then have each of them say out loud what they wrote down. Some girls are shy in middle school its only natural. That is why in some middle school's they would rather have a female teacher then a male teacher.

Your physique is the Temple of the Holy Spirit (a million Corinthians 6:19-20,), so which you will worship anyplace you prefer. A Church is in basic terms a development geared up by ability of guy. the explanation why that is sweet to attend Church is on account which you go at the same time with people who think of, and worship such as you do. if your church is so extreme then i might recommend yet another church the place the affection of God is practiced.

Well, as one youth pastor to another I have a couple points of advice. Try to make games that will cause them all to have to sit apart. Something like a variation of musical chairs, or something to that effect.

Another way is to speak to them one on one. Don't put a negative spin on it though. Try to be positive, instead of saying "your whispering is distracting" state it like, "I always see you speaking with your neighbor and can't help but feel you have a lot of good insight to add, so please share with everyone so that we can all be equally blessed"

When you show that you want the kids to help they will respond much better to anything you have to say.

You have to be more interesting than the raging hormones and the thoughts those inspire. It's tough competition.
