Proverbs 25:28 - "Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control."

2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
(sound mind is translated to discipline and self control)

2 Peter 1: 3 - "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity."

Prov 1:2 - "for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight; for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair..."

Excellent Question Rachel.

My favs - Romans 12:2, and 2 Cor. 10:3-5,
and Phil. 4:8-9, and 1 Cor. 13:4-7:"11", and lastly Gal. 5:22-23.
They speak of transforming one's mind, in order to know how to Love all people, including yourself Unconditionally, and thus the result is a stable peace of mind {which brings self-control and will-power) and Happiness. Read these verses, with the intent of practicing them, in the Amplified Bible.

Hope this helps some. Take Care, and
Have an excellent weekend.

Romans 8:38 - 39 (NLT) "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow - not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below - indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." 1 Thess. 5:6-8
6So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled. 7For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

Titus 2:11-12
11For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age

1 Peter 1:13
Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

1 Peter 5:8-9
8Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Deut. 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

1 Cor. 1:8
He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Tim. 1:7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
