My gf and a few of her coworkers are going on a work related conference for 4 days. She was supposed to room with another woman, but then one day before the trip something happened (too long a story to write here) and she can't be with the woman coworker.
Since the conference hotel was fully booked, my gf has two options:
(a) get a room at another hotel, which is 10 min walking distance,
(b) room with a male coworker,
She opted for (b) but then I voiced my objection and she changed her mind.

My gf said there's nothing between them, and she has known him and his wife for years etc.
I don't think she's gonna cheat on me, and she has not shown any dubious behavior as long as we are together, but still it puts me in an awkward situation. So, was I overreacting to object to that?

No over reaction to object or question that. But it is important to clearly discuss the feelings behind the objection with her. Gain understanding between each other and your discomfort will ultimately be relieved.

You need to trust her. Plus he is married and he won't try anything. Grow up and let her go to a conferance that is mandatory. Don't make her stay at another hotel none of her other co-workers aren't going to be at. Wouldn't you rather her be with people that you trust to take care of her while she is gone!

No you wern't overreacting as It's totally inappropriate. I wonder how his wife feels if they were to share a room. I know I would not be too happy!!

I think if you trust her then there shouldn't be a problem. I know it's easy to overreact and think "Oh, hell no" but if he's happily married and you and her are happy together, then I think you should just tell her you trust her and let it go.
