I received my provisional licence recently, but I'm not sure if something is wrong. It is my first licence of course and I'm confused. The photocard looks all good, but I'm not sure the counterpart is.

The signature, address, and a bunch of other stuff is there, but the boxes like "Provisional Entitlement" where I think it should have category A (which is on my photocard), etc.,..but the box is completely empty, is that normal? All the other boxes are empty too, like endorsements, entitlement history, etc..but I guess those are supposed to be empty, but what about the "Provisional Entitlement"...why's it empty? Please help because I want to take my CBT motorcycle training soon and I must bring both the photocard and counterpart, and I'd hate to be turned down due to a document mistake.

Forgot to mention I'm 23 years old. On my photocard it has all the provisional vehicles I can drive/ride.

as it's your first licence there will be nothing on it. till you achieve entitlement to operate another vehicle type ie car. or lorry. motorcycle.

I would take both parts of your licence to the motorcycle trainer and get them to look for you. They know what they need for you to be legal on the road. If there are any problems they will tell you and you will be able to get it sorted before you take your CBT. There is no harm in asking and they wont think any less of you. Infact they will be impressed you are taking responsbility in making sure you have the correct documents.

you don't say how old you are but the counterpart only shows other things that your photo card does not, so if for instance you are 16 then you would only get provisional A which is already on your photo card
