A firefighting plane filled its tanks with water from a lake, sucking a scuba-diver in. He drowned while the plane was in flight and was dumped onto a burning forest with the water.
It was on CSI one time.

He was snorkel diving in a lake when a fire fighting helicopter needed a large quantity of water to put out a forest fire. The bucket attached to the helicopter accidentally scooped him up and dropped him in the forest several miles away. He drowned because the snorkel came out of his mouth and the bucket was too deep and slippery for him to reach the top and get air. A similar story was on an episode of CSI.

the urban legend is that a man is scubadiving in a lake elsewhere when the forest catches fire, and a firefighting plane scoops the water and the scubadiving man up and drops it on the forest fire to put it out. the man drowns in the middle of the flight.
pt anderson's magnolia had a scene like that... except that although the man nearly drowns, he dies of a heart attack instead i think.

Either he was moved after the murder, or he drowned from drinking too much water (it filled his lungs). That's my best shot! : )
