Walking is probably the best exercise for most pregnant women. As long as your pregnancy is normal (not high risk for any reason), and you didn't just start walking 2 1/2 miles last week, then you should be fine. (You should ask your doctor anyway, just to make sure he/she has any concerns.) Good for you, I wish I had that much energy at this point! I can't even walk 2 blocks with my daughter before I feel like I'm going to pass out. :)

No walking is great for you and your child. Doctors recommend exercising so that your body will withstand the rigors of labor and delivery more easily. As your due date gets closer, try and stay closer to home, or keep your mobile number on you at all times. You never know when you may go into labor and be sure that you are aware of what the signs of labor are.
Walking won't cause you to go into labor but if you are in labor it will just jump start things and progress it a little faster.

It is good to exercise while you are pregnant especially if you have always been doing it. As long as you are not putting strain or stress on the baby you should be fine. Altough I do have to warn you seeing that you are already 32 weeks you are getting bigger and bigger and will most likley become to tired and uncomfortable to walk that much. This is when you need to tone it down other wise you will put stress on the baby because you are exhausted. i dont think it will cause you to go into labor this early but I am not a doctor so you may ask just to be safe. trust me you dont want a preemie if you dont have to.

Walking is perfectly healthy while pregnant, as long as you do not over do it. 2 and a half miles should be fine. Your body will tell you if you are working too hard. Be sure to discuss your exercise regimen with your doctor. Exercise is a very good idea while pregnant, keeping you and your baby healthy.

From what I understand that "if" walking actually helps, which is still not definitely confirmed, it only helps after you are already in labor. So no walking is good for you and it is not going to cause you to go into labor.
Your doctor can reassure you of this.

I think walking will be good for you but maybe not as much as the two and a half miles. Ask your doctor what is best for you.

Tell your friends to mind their own business! If it isn't causing you any pain and you have an uncomplicated pregnancy, it is one of the best things you can do for your baby. (Labor is called that for a reason! It's hard work. Being fit makes it easier.) Kudos to you for having the stamina to keep it up at 32 weeks though! :)

Alot of physical action such as walking an sex can induce labor, but i am on the same page as you, you would think that your doctor would say something if u shouldn't be doing it. I feel that every woman's situation is different, you should feel free to give him/her a call, you could even just ask the nurse, then they can give you a truthful answer based on your particular pregnancy. Good luck and congrats!

If your doctor knows about it and hasn't said anything, I wouldn't worry. While I was pregnant people actually told me going for walks would help make labor somewhat easier, though I was on bedrest, so I don't know if thats true or not.

you are right. If you have been doing it the whole time it will be great for both you and your baby. The cardio will at least help you with labor later on, and there is very little reason to believe it will lead to premature labor. Stay with what the MD believes(or doesn't disagree with) and not what your friends think.
