Make sure to blow dry your had straight prior to using the iron. Also use a good product on your hair so it does not dry out but not to heavy either.

Technique baby. You have to do it on almost dry hair. You have to have some pressure or resistance as you pull the iron to the ends (but don't pull your hair out). And, it's best to have someone help you as it's really hard to do yourself.

maybe you need to get one that has better heat the hotter the better and when you do your hair take small portions of hair and keep going over it till it gets the way you want it . start fromthe bottom and work your way to the front .

maybe invest in a straightening treatment, like the easystraight anti-perm. or maybe a john frida frizz ease shampoo that starts straight styles in the shower.

get a better flat iron, and if u already have a really nice one, maybe you should go to a hairdresser and ask her for some advice...

take little sections at a time....you might need to get a iron that gets hotter...if you have really thick hair

use hairspray. get a chi straightener and straighten slowly but well. that shall work. if you still have problems, contact the local hair dresser.

let the iron get as hot as posssible and straighten small sections not large chunks. hot and small sections should do it for you.
