Hello, I am not trying to scam the government or anything, but i have a few questions.

First off I live in a family of 6 (including me) and well my step-father makes about 1800 a month totally to about 22k a year in gross and about 18-mid 19k actual take home. My mom just had another baby boy and is on WIC and we do get a some foodstamps, about 140 or so. Well i have a son aswell but he lives down the street with his mother, we are together but I am only 20 now and we are both in college. I really want her to move in with me into my room which i built big enough for the 3 of us in my mothers back yard, for the time being. She currently gets WIC aswell but I was wondering if she moves in will she stop recieveing WIC (formula, baby food, milk) since my mother is on WIC too? Also not that it matters so much but will my mother recieve less food stamps since we would need to report our (me and my gf) paystubs (which total to about 850 total a month)?

What is DSS? I am a bit naive about this matter, new son, new responsiblities. So i should take this question up to the food stamp office counter? Also i live in Texas if that helps, and you say i can have everything separated? How is that so if we (me, my gf and son) are going to be living under my step-fathers roof?

Your girlfriend won't stop receiving her WIC. And you won't be scaming the system. When you guys apply for whatever it is that you are trying to get do separate applications, list everyone that lives there but include that you and your girlfriend are separate from everyone else in the household. I don't know exactly how it is worded in the state of Texas. Go to the local Human Services office and speak with a counselor. Your mom's food stamps shouldn't get cut. Actually, your girlfriend should qualify for her own foodstamps. Again I don't know how they do it there in Texas but go to the office there and speak with someone they should be able to help you guys out. Good Luck!

Although laws can be different depending on the State you live in WIC is for the child and should not be effected by the
change. Food stamps might be but you can have food stamps done separately your mother, step father and others in her house on one and as long as you prepare meals separately you and your GF and child on a separate one. Check your local DSS to find out for sure. good luck

ok first off a little lying to help support your family is not BAD, no no one will lose wic if she moves in, its based on your child and your income along, not your mothers! Next if you resport to dshs that you live in the back yard and pay like 100 dollars in rent, it will be enough to help you guys out with food stamps and even tanf and still not enough to hurt your mother's foodstamps. I know all about the state I have a family of 6 also! You have to ly a lil and always keep your lys striaght...lol

I don't mean to sound rude - but why would you want to put this pressure on your parents. As your own child grows you will find yourself worrying about them no matter how old they are. Anyway- she would still get WIC..but don't start your "family" life there. Move on..it's VERY hard..bills,groceries,healthcare, etc. but if you are willing for this girl and your child to be under your care then you might have to work 2 jobs and study!..or perhaps you and she can alternate shifts so that you have 2 incomes but don't miss out on baby time. Save, get ready and realize..it's time.

AS far as the wic give her mothers address. THATs what my sister did. DONT tell any one, the less who know your business the better.

I'm really not sure but I don't see why your wic/welfare/foodstamps should affect your parents in any way...

If she's still able to use her parents address, I dont see a problem. Nothing would change.
