I would go look and see what they have in that price range, and get ideas from that...........or you could save up for it until you decide what you want

I know that in the shop I worked at, we had a $40 minimum just to set up the equipment. The only things that we did for $50 or less were either smaller than a quarter (with minimal detail) or up to 10 letters.
I would advise saving some money, and get a piece that you really want, not just something you can afford right now. Don't forget the old cliche: Good tattoos aren't cheap, and cheap tattoos aren't good.

Some suggestions are fine, but really, instead of spending only $50, why don't you save up for something more personal, instead of the common and generic? I would think you would want a tattoo to be special-something that means something to you, instead of just "HEY! LOOK! I have a tattoo!" I had one of those that I chose off the wall of the parlor, and 8 years later, I ended up getting my gekko($60) covered up with an elaborate and beautiful Celtic cross for $120. I'm more Irish than anything else, but I am all American, plus, I believe in Jesus-so it means more. I, in essence, wasted that $60, cuz I wanted just to get a tattoo. Think about what you really want, before you just go get it, and save up.
Best to ya!

I think that you were the one that asked about a $50 tattoo and preferrably a $30 one? You need to go to various studios and talk to the artists about it. I would maybe go in with an idea and let them know that your budget is $50 rather than going into a place and just asking what you can get for $50....

For $50 i'm sure you'll find something nice and cheap and tacky off the wall that you'll love for a few months then regret months later and have to pay alot more than $50 to get it removed or covered up.
Wait and save and get the tattoo you really want. The more you spend the better the quality.

With tattoos the syaing "you get what you pay for' is very, very true. If you only want to pay $50 for a tattoo i would suggest that you don't bother until you want to or can pay more for it and get something really good and worth waiting for. The artists time is more valuable than 50 bucks!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but my idea is not to shoot for so low. I mean, there are good artists out there that will do something good for $50, but finding them is never a given. Good ink ain't cheap, and cheap ink ain't good.
On the other hand, if you already have a good artist who will do something for that amount, how about something small that means something to you? For example, if you're part Scot, perhaps some simple Celtic design?

Save your money until you have more to splurge on a quality piece from a quality artist or you'll just end up spending EVEN MORE money on getting your $50 tattoo covered up by a bigger one...

fifty dollars can go a long way in a crappy shop with a crappy artist or not very far at all with a good artist. if you only have $50 to work with why don't you save your money and wait til you can afford something worth having?

Well.. I think if you have a budget you shouldnt get one - not being rude but - that tattoo is for LIFE - If you dont already know what you want.. why go get one? And if it has to be $50 or under.. why bother right now? Why not think of THE one you want.. then save up for it? ya know?

Simple, small images and small text words that are 3 letters or less. Probably no bigger overall than 1/2 square inch
