In the book of mythology known as the bible, Satan is basically a good guy that got a bad rap. With the Jews, he was no more than God's lackey assigned to punish/test people but he couldn't do that unless God told him to. This made God the bad guy, as well as the good guy. The christians didn't like that, they said God is the good guy, satan does all these things because HE'S evil, he's rebelling against god, etc. So, the myth of a demi-god known as Satan, who was almost as powerful as god, was born. After that they realized satan was a great marketing tool and so, satan has been helping christians recruit followers ever since.

I believe that Satan is a real person who is out to destroy us and I believe hell is real. I think hell or the grave is a place of total darkness and with no light at all and that it is a place of punishment and reflection. I don't think hell is permanent like other Christians would have you to believe because Jesus said anyone who calls on him will be saved. He never said you had to do this before you die. I'm not sure if hell is a place of fire necessarily either because fire was never mentioned in the Old Testament and I think when Jesus mentioned the rich man on fire in hell, he was talking about a fictitious parable. Either way there is always an escape from hell if someone should end up there if you will just call on Jesus with a sincere heart. He is going to save everyone eventually according to the Bible.

Satan is God's enemy. He started out as angel. Then he got jealous of how God could have people worship him and things like that. So, this angel turns on God and uses the power to turn bad, that's how satan became. Basically, satan is still jealous of God, so satan tries to God's followers' backs on God. He does this everyday in our daily lives.
Hell on the other hand, is satan's "home." Its where non-believers go after their life on earth. They go to hell instead of Heaven. Hell is also called the lake of fire.

You've asked a very complicated question but let me try to answer. Satan was originally created by God to be the most powerful angel...ever! He was very strong and beautiful and very special to God. Unfortunately, satan wasn't happy just being an angel, he wanted to be a God himself. He and approx. 1/3 of the angels in heaven rebelled against God and for this, Satan and his angels were cast out of heaven. Satan himself was cast out by Archangel Michael. Satan has always been very jealous of God and the reason Satan hates human beings so much is because we are God's most beloved creations. Satan figures that the best way to get back at God is to destroy his beloved children. Hell is a place that was created by God for Satan and his angels. Humans were never intended to go to hell, but then, humans were never intended to stray away from God. Simply put, if you end up in hell it is you that sent yourself there, not God. You end up there by rejecting God and his son Jesus. To be saved, you must accept Jesus and what he did for us on that cross. He died so that we would not have to! Yes, we die an earthly death but the Bible says, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Christians don't die, they just change residences. Sinners who reject their creator, God, die in Hell with Satan and his angels. It's alot more complicated than this, God wrote a whole book about it so it's hard for me to explain it all here. I hope this info. helps!

The same as the Christian belief 2000 years ago.

Satan was once an archangel named Lucifer. He rebelled against God, along with 1/3 of the angels.

Hell is a place of torment. It's one-way--entrance but no exit.

I believe what the Bible says. There was a jealous angel who wanted to be God. He got thrown out of heaven and a third of the angels followed him. Now he is the arch-enemy of God and because he can't get to Him, Satan tries to hurt God's kids: Me. God doesn't want anyone to go to hell, but Satan does, because that's a really good way of getting back at God, so he does everything that he can to blind people so that they won't choose to go to heaven.

In my opinion, Satan is the personification of all evil and forces at work against God. And hell is anytime (present and future) that a person is in the absence of God. And that includes eternal separation from God in our life after death.
