holy crap hun if its at 104 get your *** the the ER. thats reeeeeeeeeally dangerous. you need to find out why you have the fever. if the tylenol isnt helping you needd to get to a doc fast. you may have a real bad infection. god you have a crappy doctor. did he do a blood count of you or exam you? clearly there is something wrong to give you this fever. if you are trying to lower it sit in a cool bath. that may help. drink LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER! seriously. bc you are probably sweating huh? and even if you cant feel it, you are losing water through evaporation. becoming dehydrated will make things worse. eat and drink healthy foods and drinks (water, if your dehydrated gatorade) and go to a different doc.

To break the fever, alternate Tylenol and Advil every two hours till it breaks, then every four hours for the next 24 hours. Get into a tepid bath and keep yourself as cool and comfortable as possible. You need to go to the hospital if at all possible. The alternating of Tylenol and Advil is what works for my kids and was recommended by our doctor.

Honey, 104 is bad. I would go to the ER. That is not good. An old wives tale, if you don't want to deal with the cold shower, is to take a cold wash cloth and dip it in a bowl of water and vinegar. The vinegar will act as a cooling agent and you will hopefully break the fever. Though it seems like you may have strep throat. I just got over strep....so you may want to get to the dr again. But if you're older, 104 is BAD.

You need to give yourself the Tylenol or Advil at the frequency recommended. That should keep your temperature down. If the temperature doesn't go down, a cool shower or bath will help but call the doctor in the morning. Also, drink iced water, juices and drinks to keep yourself hydrated. I hope that you're better soon.

I would try a cold shower to get the fever down. And also, keep taking the tylenol and try the advil also. Talk to your doctor and ask him for a strep throat test. It may be this, since you have a lot of the symtoms.

you may have a flu and it's something viral, just continue taking your antipyretics ( i'd prefer the tylenol, make sure you are not underdose with your medicines ), try taking a bath to bring the fever down or if you prefer just sponge yourself with water to keep your body cool or drink plenty of fluids. Hope you get better soon.

do NOT take that cold shower it can lead to pneumonia, esp when you have a fever. Get someone to drive you to the hospital, if you can't, get an ambulance. Driving while being sick will only increase your chance for an accident. Be safe. Good luck!
