Puppets are great fun. Music is a must! Peek-a-boo is the funnest game in the world for a 1year old. Don't forget walks outside in the stroller. It fun for the child and fun for you.

Sing songs, play patty cake, is he standing or cruising? Put toys up on the couch or table for him to play with. Read books especially those that have lift-the-flaps or play music. Hold him front of the mirror and make silly faces (my daughter is almost two and STILL loves this!)

1 yr olds love tubs--keep a close eye on him & be with him all the time while he's in the tub.
But w/ his toys--and maybe about 1" in tub of water, lukewarm.
& other things, they like are colorful toys, trying to walk or crawl.
If you guys can go to the park or if they have a backyard--that is helpful too

Basic fun at that age like trying to chase him around room on all fours - or have him try to follow you... Playing peekaboo and hiding for a sec and popping up (not scarilly) and definetely reading or singing. Also letting him explore touching new safe objects to feel and of course hewill try whatever it is in his mouth to feel its texture and to see if it a piece of food by tasting. But its exploration and input which they really want at times.

Cartoons, play a balloon game where they can hit it, ball, teach him to color, play in the sand box if it is summer where you are, take him to the park or for walks to tire him out.
