The shot has been approved for girls as young as nine years old. Many states are trying to make the vaccine mandatory for girls entering the sixth grade. Will this encourage children and lead them to think that it is acceptable to have sex at such a young age?

Oh my god NO! I have only had sex with my husband and I have HPV and had to get precancerous cells lasered off, so if I could have gotten a vaccination to prevent that, I would have. I wasn't a skanky whore who had sex with everyone, I was a good girl until I got married. I don't blame my husband, for it, he didn't know, but that's not the point. If you can prevent cancer from occurring just by getting a shot, than why not?! These people that say that it will make young people think that they just can have sex are morons. Kids have been having sex forever and they will continue to have sex in the future. I would definitely get my children the shot that could prevent them from getting cancer or worse suffering and dying from cancer. My opinion, you don't have to take it to heart.

Most kids at that age won't even know why they're getting shots, or what the vaccines prevent... hell, I got shots all through grade school and I still don't even know what they were. I don't think it will encourage sex. The media will, but not a vaccine.

No. They are going to have sex reguardless of the vaccine and the vaccine does protect but is NOT 100% effective.
