in parking lots and drive ways, what can help and stuff?

I'm curious what other people would think and no it's not for homework.

Well, I immediately think about the risks of backing up!

A lot of new vehicles are equipped with backup sensors and cameras, those certainly couldn't hurt, but they are mostly out of my personal price range!

Here are a couple of tips that I always try to do that make sense to me for so many reasons, including safety.

If you pull into a parking space and call pull through, do it. That way when it's time to leave you are going forward.

Back into a parking space after you have surveyed it pulling by. Then when you are ready to leave, you can pull straight out.

If you do have to back up, honk the horn once or twice before you move the vehicle and then move SLOWLY. Yeah, I get some weird stares now and then, but imagine the stares of shock if I hit someone.

When driving, use common sense. When you are in a parking lot, driveway, or residential area, go a little slower, be alert, drive with the headlights on, and try to anticipate potential problems before they occur.

Finally, parents need to constantly remind children to respect the street. Discourage playing in the streets, always look both ways, don't run after toys and balls, cross at crosswalks, and things like that. It may seem remedial to an adult, but kids need constant reminding.

Misha's answer is also good! No amount of equipment is going to fix reckless driving.

Good question. Be safe!

By being good parents and making sure their kids aren't running around between cars.

It is not about equipment, it is about proper parenting and proper driving :)
