you really should wait about a month I say. I know you probably cant stand it. But I rather have the red then the damage. I have been there. I paid alot of money to have my hair go blonde. Big mistake. My hair pulls all the red out in the dye. I waited I think about 2 months before I changed it back. So now when I go, I have to tell them whatever the mix calls for in red, they MUST use less of the red and more of something else. I tend to stay away from home kits since I cant control the red in them. I have only found 1 home kit that turns out good on me.

If you go to the salon, let the hairdresser know what you've done, when, and what brand. They can help, but only if they know everything that's happened to your hair.
In the meantime, use a good deep conditioner to try to counteract some of the damage from the drug store hair colour - even if the colour didn't change much there was a lot of damage you can't see yet.
Take it from a brunette that ruined my hair when I tried to go blonde on my own.
Get it done by a professional - you won't be sorry.

damage has already been done. seek professional help by going to the salon as soon as possible. it may cost you but like what they say, you get what you pay for. just make sure you go to a master color stylist (an expert not a rookie). they'll fix your hair to the color you really want. going for blonde with having dark/red pigmentation isn't an easy task to do at home. even some people have to bleach their hair (professionally done) just to go blonde. good luck!

It should not affect it. Go to a decent salon, and have an experienced color specialist work on it. Make sure you use a good conditioner afterward. Coloring your hair will give you dry hair, but coloring twice in a week doesn't make it worse.

Hi my name is Cindy and I am a cosmetologist ..and yes you will damage your hair more...but most importantly..make sure that you tell your hair dresser what kind of hair color you got and where you got it...because stores like wal-mart hair color is not the same as what we use...so your color might not come out right so just give your hair dresser heads up on whats going on...good luck

going easy brown after black would be VERY not straightforward. Black oftentimes remains at a greenish/golden section till now going to a lighter coloration. Your ultimate wager, could be to function a purple or some thing over the black to grant it a wine coloration look and watch for the black to vanish. Black is the toughest coloration to eliminate. pay attention you could finally end up relatively messing up and having to spend 1000's at a salon repairing it. in case you sense uncomfortable in any respect, flow to a salon and have them do it.

ive unfortunately done this. it fried only certain parts of my hair, and not that much, but still its not good. if i could go back i wouldnt have done it. if i were you (ONLY if i really trusted my colorist, and knew they were really experienced) i would ask my colorist to look at my hair and help decide what to do. she might say it will be ok, or she might say wait a month. i would rather be safe then sorry.....

The longer you wait, the better. But if its not that bad now, I'm sure they can fix it for you. It may be that you just didnt leave the lightener long enough.
