My daughter, came down the stairs after talking with her bf in tears. Saying that he "fell asleep" at a party and woke up with some chick being a jerk, and giving him a huge hickey. Now he has this hickey and wanted to explain it. She asked my opinion on the subject.
I think this guy is smooth and is totally playing defense, because he knows she will see it or find out from a friend that it is there. Who wakes up with a hickey without participating and who gives one to a sleeping person?
Anyways, I think he cheated and is trying to make excuses before she even finds out, and get points for honesty in the process. However, I could be wrong and I would hate to have her dump the guy if he is telling the truth.
But come on, call my cynical but... that is just insane! you would have to be sleeping pretty hard to not notice until it was a huge hickey.. right?
What do you guys think? Also what are the dumbest hickey excuses you have used or heard?

yea i think he is lying to her.....and this probably isnt the first time he cheated and it wont be the last..... i remember my ex had a hicky on his next and told me that his sister pinched him and thats how he got it.....come to find out that it wasnt his sister pinching him but her friend sucking on his neck....but i hope everything works out for her....my opinion is for her to leave him before she gets more attached and ends up having her heart broken

Her bf is definitely making it up. It's impossible for someone to fall asleep at a party, first of all, since it's a party, so people are probably partying, not drifting away to sleep. Also, he would have woken up if someone was giving him a hickey. Who would be desperate enough to give a sleeping person a hickey anyway?
I"ve even heard this excuse before: "Oh, I was so bored, I gave it to myself." How dumb is that? :)

i think he's lying for all the reasons already mentioned (how does someone fall asleep at a party? who gives a hickey to a sleeping person? it's so much more fun to do the warm water trick lol). i'm a deep sleeper--and i'd wake up if someone got that close to me and started sucking on me. anyway i heard 1- 'it's a bug bite'. 2- 'i bumped into something' 3- 'when i get nervous, i pick at my skin'

That's definitely a lie... I can't remember any dumb hickey excuses, but I wanted to say that I know girls who have actually burnt themselves on the neck and people thought it was a hickey... they burnt themselves with a curling iron (I've done that too, but not bad enough to leave a mark)... I do know a girl who's b/f held her down and gave her a hickey on her forehead, haha... (all in good fun, of course)... but she didn't lie about it...

Why do you obviously think that only guys get hickeys ? ,,,, You probably aren't going to like this but I think you ought to keep your nose out of your daughters love life ,,,, for the most part anyway unless she invites your opinion but even then you should maybe show a little discretion and limit your comments ,,,, Mothers and mother-in-laws allot of times try to relive their own child hood though the lives of their children ,,,, What does it matter about something a trivial as a hickey on a guys neck ,,,, Stay out of it and let her handle it ,,,, You can't live your daughters life for her or make her decisions especially after she's out on her own ,,,, If you are in the habbit of involving yourself or are starting to get into the habbit of it then stop ,,,, You are making a fool of yourself ,,,, Your only concerns where your daughter is concerned is whether she gets pregnant or not or if she's running with a crowd that might get into trouble with the authorities ,,,, Your daughters social life for the most part is her business unless she talks to you about it and asks for your advise ,,,,
But the last place you should air her problems is on the computer regardless ,,,, If she did involve you then it was probably with the unspoken understanding that she did so in confidence ,,,, I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate having her problem or problems broadcast all over the globe ,,,,
It could be very possible that if she finds out you did then you won't have that channel of open communication between the two of you anymore ,,,, And that open channel is very important where child parent relationships are concerned ,,,,

He probably cheated but it is up to him to confess. The greatest one I have heard is that "Its a birthmark." Which is quite funny cause I have a birthmark on my neck that looks a lot like a hickey.
