I am about 5'5 and I am in the normal weight range. I really dont need to lose a lot of weight, I just need to be a few pounds smaller. I dont have a "big butt", its basically flat but it is a lil bit wide. Does anyone know good exercises to make the backside smaller? ((I do not want it bigger in any way, shape or form, just to clear that up. I dont even know why girls want big butts. its crazy.)) thanks =)

walking really helps, nothing super but power walking is great too

yea i know just the thing, i am a football weight lifter and this will be low impact and will give u the results u need.

put your feet under a couch while laying on your belly. now raise your head and upper body as high as u can get it. u sure look like a banana now. now when at the top of your bend, flex your butt. do about 20 or those really slow and u will have a nice butt in no time!

Based on what you describe as your current physical state i would suggest that you combine cardio exercise (moderate intensity, 30mins, 3-5 times/week) with 3 sets of 20 repetitions of the following exercises:
-squats
-lunges
donkey press (on hands and knees, bend leg at knee so sole of foot is facing up. contract glutes and pulse upwards. alternate legs).

In order to see definition or 'tone' you possibly need to decrease body fat. There is no way to spot reduce- unfortunately!

Try hiking. I used to run but started hiking and it has made my hips noticably smaller in 1 month.
