Okay, I told my ex girlfriend that I miss her. And she told me that I caught her off gaurd. What does that mean? Second, when I told her that, she told me that she didn't think I did. What does that supposed to mean? I just hope I did the right thing by telling her that I miss her cause it is the truth.

what she means by "caught her off guard" is that you surprised her.. she didn't think you were going to say that. she's saying she doesn't think you miss her because you guys aren't together anymore

I think it means she is genuinely caught off guard and her perception was that you didn't miss her. It's good to be honest, regardless of how she feels or responds. She probably isn't sure how to respond to what you said because she needs to figure out how she feels and what she wants to do with what you said. She told you that you caught her off guard because she doesn't believe you. Who broke up with who? By your question, I would say you broke up with her. If she has moved on, then you are out whether you miss her or not. You should have either told her sooner or you just want what you can't have now.

well, you broke the ice by telling her. thats a very good step. it sounds like she doesnt believe you about it, so you can show her that you miss her. maybe a single rose or a poem or song showing your feelings?

SHE MEANT ONE OF TWO THINGS...SHE DID NOT THINK YOU MISSED HER AT ALL...OR.....SHE DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO SAY BECAUSE SHE HAD NOTHING NICE TO REPLY, IN OTHER WORDS SHE DOES NOT FEEL THE SAME. HOPEFULLY IT WAS THE FIRST!!! GOOD LUCK!!

it means that she didn't expect it and that she doesn't believe you. you did the right thing. now all you have to do is wait and see what she does.
