No, if you install it on a 2nd computer, it will be installed as a 30 day trial. After the trial expires, your computer will be limited to almost nothing, i think internet explorer will be the only workable app. Now if you buy another CD key online you can use your same CD and just input the new key in the installation.

??? If it comes w/Vista, it will have it (or you could burn it) on CD. & does not Dell decrease a deal for a XP/Vista improve mixture? (so which you get the two.) EDIT: "i don't think of it comes with a CD. The OS is pre-put in. isn't that elementary?" Yeah, and it sucks. yet meaning (except it became erased) homestead windows archive records are on your HDD and can be burned to a CD. except they have stopped doing that interior the final couple of years. And besides the fact that else, you may desire to be waiting to get a CD from Dell for a minimum fee because you have already have been given a COA (Serial # Tag) on the laptop itself. "If I actually have a extreme crash, if I actually have a CD i will not might desire to pay a tech to repair it?" Yeah, even even though it might nonetheless in step with hazard advise dropping something extra (records, spreadsheets, and so on) on the HDD (hard stress). As an aside, in case you're watching XP, be certain the kind you have have been given has XP drivers obtainable in the different case that's going to be a extreme discomfort.

Its possible, and there are illegal ways to get around the additional fee of installing on 2 seperate systems though if cought youll spend more time in jail then a sex predator will.
XP was easy to do that, many just had a system then built one very similiar so the XP program would determine its the same system and give a authorize number to the rep or online activation form. in return it would give you a activation key. I hear vista is different though. to be hones just wait till the last version comes out. trust me,
my department is just going to XP last version made and before we been on 98 ever since the first day.

Possibly. It depends on your copy of Vista; it should tell you if it has a license for one user or more. Check your box.
