My friend has an old pickup that got stuck in reverse. He drove it in reverse going in the correct lane but backwards. He did get to the mechanic's shop and was not stopped by the police. Was just wondering if this is legal or not.

If you have to ask then you must drive a SUV, Truck, or Minivan. No only is it illegal, but it is a safety hazard for everyone else on the road. Not only are your directions reversed when you’re going backwards but you will be distracting everyone else on the road as to your reckless behavior. Call a Tow truck and pay the tow truck driver what it would cost you for the ticket that you would receive. Not to mention the fact that the cop can impound your car and see to it that your license is revoked. A tow driver does not have this kind of power.

Sorry, but no, it is illegal to drive your car in reverse to get it to a mechanic.

Illegal? Prob. he would get in trouble for it for wreckless driving. However, I would worry about doing it in the first place due to my safety concerns.

coloumb shift or floor???

if its coloumb shift you can climb under the car & change it in to second to drive to the shop.......

but Im guessing if he drove in reverse hes not mechanically minded.......lol
