No, if God wants to talk to you, you might as well remove your lovely hat and listen. He will get you if He wants you. Do you really want God to stop talking to you? You should be honoured that He is talking to you.

That's not God, that is your own mind pretending to be god. It's INSIDE you hat, so the hat does nothing to stop it.
