I don't think there is a right answer to this question. Some people leave home young, and some may never leave home. It all depends on the individual. :)

I think it's important for men to move out by their mid-20s at the latest. Men tend not to 'grow up' unless they gain some manly independence. For women, this is less of an issue and depends a lot on family interaction. I do think most women would do well to move out for at least a year prior to marriage (and not necessarily moving in with boyfriend). Many marry as a means to move out and that usually ends in divorce.
I say this with the caveat that you can't apply generalities to all situations. I've met some pretty grown up guys who never moved from home (usually they were part of family business so had a lot of responsibility).

I lived with my parents up until I got married. I was 25 years old. I had a job and was going to school. I helped out around the house and starting paying some rent.
I think girls tend to stay home longer than guys do.
I think it's fine to live with your parents up until your around 28 years old and then it's time to move out.
And that's as long as your working and paying some rent.
I am now 27 years old and couldn't imagine living at home ever again. Once you get the taste of freedom to do what you want when you want you don't ever want to be restricted again.
My husband moved out of his parents house when he turned 18 years old.
Hope this answered your question.

Well, I think as long as they are respectful of their parents, pay their expenses, pick up after themselves, and the parents are ok with it, who cares? But, honestly, I've only met one person who was like that and stayed after 25(he moved out when he was 27 and then paid rent for the space he was still using in the garage). The rest did it because it was easy, and they didn't want to work or take care of themselves. Well, I did have one friend who was very insecure and stayed at home because mommy and daddy told her she had to. But that was a case of flat out mental abuse.

My daughters and I have formed a partnership in a multi-generational house.
I own the house and babysit their kids. They work and pay the bills.
My oldest daughter is 32, and my youngest is 29. And the grandsons are 12, 10, and 8.
We think it's a great arrangement, and are set to continue it for many years to come...I imagine even after I die and the girls share the house together.
So to answer your question...it all depends on the parent(s) and the kid(s).

-After you graduate college, and have paid up your student loans
-After you are married
-After you have a decent job for several months
-After deciding to move in with someone, but give your family some notice, first
-After you get home from serving in the military--have had time to recuperate, and have gotten a decent job and a few bucks in the bank
No particular age, if your parents need your financial help, or physical help due to failing health. It would be selfish to leave if one of these things applied.

This totally depends, but I would say an age where it is no longer comfortable for all members of the family. Or perhaps if you start bringing sexual partners home - thats a sure sign it's time to move out!

It all depends on your situation. Some people have no reason to be at home at certain ages but some things could be going on that places people still living at home, so it all depends.

I realy think that depends on the situation. ALOT of single mothers live with their parents because of how hard it is to raise a child on your own. Also if one of your parents are sick you might want to move in to care for that parent. there is no correct or wrong age to move out it all depends on the situation you and your parents are in.
