I am not insecure and I am not offended by those who do not believe in God. I only feel that way when they are nasty because I do believe. It is crude to make fun of Jesus and I don't tolerate that well.

Most Christians are not offended by people who reject God's love and forgiveness. Saddened, but not offended.
But, to answer your question, think about it for a moment...why are you posting on the religion site? If you really think there is no god shouldn't you be on the mythology or philosophy sites? People of all faiths interpret your actions as making it impossible for them to have an honest discussion about God here because it's constantly being interupted by rudeness and hatred. How else can they interpret it? If you really think we're all kooks, why are you here?
How would you feel if any time you posted anything, the same group of people called you names and ridiculed what you believe - constantly. Well, some people of faith feel the same way.
I find it sad that my non-Christian cousins who scream for tolerance the loudest show it the least. If you look at the answers the Christians give on this website you'll see very little anger and no hatred...there is some small amount of frustration. Can you say the same of those who oppose Christianity on this site? Would you be offended if I phrased all of my questions as you phrased this one? What about the last hundred or so questions non-Christians put on this site? Take an honest look at them, then you'll understand why some people of faith are getting tired of the way you and yours are treating them.
I pray this brings you understanding.

Hi, Nicole.
Religion and politics are two areas that I try my best not to discuss with friends and family.
When discussing either religion or politics, some one is bound to be offended and want to stand up for their beliefs.
If it's politics, I support the President whether he is Democrat or Republican. I didn't vote for President Clinton, but I supported him.
I didn't vote for President Bush the first time he ran, but I supported him. I did vote for him in the last election.
There are times when I have had enough and feel I have to defend The President.
I feel somewhat the same about religion. I'm a Christian. A Christian is someone who believes in Christ. As a Christian, I can't help, what power, greed and politics has done to religion.
I don't attend church like I should, but I have a picture of Jesus The Christ hanging on my wall and a statue of Him on my fire place.
I believe we all have the same God, no matter what our beliefs are.
There are some fanatic Christians, just like there are fanatics when it comes to their politics.
I look at it like the pendulum that swings back and forth on a clock. Wouldn't it be nice if we could swing more to the middle in our beliefs no matter what they are. Not too far left and not too far to the right.
If this could happen, maybe there wouldn't be so many of us that were offending or taking offense.
What a wonderful world it would be.
Thank's for your question. It should give us all a lot to think about and hopefully try to look at both sides and not be so opinionated.

Maybe I should not be answering your question as I am a Christian and do not belong to any man made up religion, but nonetheless I'll try.
Most people want to believe in God and the servants of the Devil know this and exploit it to the max. Take the Catholic Church for an example.
These people have no clue what the Word of God says for they only believe what their priest and popes tell them. They tell them to pray to saints and that will make things better. They venerate the mother of Jesus Christ as a Saviour and pray to her as well. They believe that the pope is a direct line to Peter and yet Peter was never a pope.
The Catholic church did not even come into being until the Council of Nisan 325 AD.
So what they have got, they believe to be the way to God. I don't see them being offended by them that do not.><>

Perhaps because they've been so ingrained with their beliefs, and the belief that their deity and religious system is so beautiful and correct that it doesn't make sense to them how other people could possibly believe otherwise. It's hard for them to accept that other people believe in other gods or don't believe at all, because their own are supposed to be the only gods in the whole universe. And if a person tries to justify their atheism, a religious person is naturally inclined to think that a person"turning away from God" has been lost, wandering in a web of temptation weaved the devil. Which only gets the atheist even more pissed off because he doesn't believe in the devil either...
But it's just like others believe in evolution. We've been taught for years that this is correct with our textbooks and scientists, while they have their bibles and priests. After these ideas have been pushed upon us to the point that we've even been graded upon how much we know about the big bang or spanked if we don't want to say our prayers, and even after having reached that age where we truly discover our free will and make our own decision whether to believe in religion or science, we've had to choose one path because to believe in how could we not be utterly loyal to our side? And when two beliefs contradict each other, it gets frustrating for both sides. In each others eyes we are wrong, but we want to be right and for others to think the way we do, whether for the sake of our own internal security or to have power and control over them. Everyone thinks he or she's right, and may think that he or she has all the evidence or passion to prove it, yet on the other side of the battlefield stands one who feels the same degree passion and possesses the same amount of evidence in their own respect, and the only difference between them is the idea.
Plus some atheists and agnostics will go out of their way just to take a dump on God's name, feeling deserving to do so because of the lies and trickery they see in organized faith, yet without direct provocation from anyone. I'm an atheistic-leaning agnostic, no longer the devout Catholic I used to be, but it's annoying when people mock and belittle him and other religious figures. Nobody likes when people disgrace someone or something they care about.

Well, I could ask the same thing only opposite. People who are not religious seem to get offended so easily by religious people too. No one likes to have their beliefs attacked. It has nothing to do with our faith. We know for a fact what happens when we die. And it seems to me, that fact scares alot of non-religious people because they aren't sure what happens to them. When people are scared they will attack other beliefs and this is what is happening.

RELIGIOUS is the key word. Ivan Tate did a great study on taking and causing offense. It is well worth getting. I listened to it four times. It is called Offended and Suspended.

They have found what they are in search of...because they feel so lucky I think they are trying to force it on you in hopes of giving you a better chance to "find what you SHOULD be looking for." I believe..I try to respect others opinions because I can't force something as great as belief. If they actually live what most preach- they should definately NOT be judging anyone! No mortal has the right. Just my opinion. Hope this helps!

Thank you for saying 'some'. Sadly, this question is not directed to me, since I am not offended by people who aren't Christians. I am offended when people flat out mock my religion, though.
