Not to attack, but someone who asks this question is probably interested in some kind of low carb diet. Before choosing any kind of diet which eliminates an entire group of food, you should become fairly well informed about nutrition in general, so that you can make the healthiest choice. Anything that is naturally sweet or starchy has carbs. This includes breads, grains, nuts, fruits, vegetables, etc. Grapes are sweet, as a result of neither splenda, nor sweet n low, nor nutrasweet, etc. Therefore they have sugar. All of the calories in sugar come from their carbohydrate content. Here's a quick guide: For every gram of carbohydrates, there are 4 calories. For every gram of protein, there are 4 calories. For every gram of fat, there are 9 calories. Some foods, such as grapes, have calories from only one source, in this case, carbohydrates. Beware of consuming less than 20 grams of carbs per day, as you can develop kitosis. You can look this up online. Also, low carb diets are really less healthy than you may think. They are not nutritionally balanced. Generally, when you remove a key food group, your body will experience the void.

Simple carbs are simple sugars found in refined sugars, like the white sugar you'd find in a sugar bowl. Complex carbs are starches which include grain products, such as bread, crackers, pasta, and rice. Since grapes are not refined sugars, they are a complex carbohydrate.
